Round 6 of Ste-Margo is still in progress, but while my game was out of commission, I kept wanting to work on a vacation hood. I've hardly ever sent my sims on vacation, but I kind of want to now. The only trouble is I'm so picky about lots that it'll take forever before I feel that a hood is "ready" to be visited.... Maybe I can be satisfied with doing one hotel and making over a community lot or two? Chalk the stupidness of the un-madeover lots up as "local color"?
Anyway, check out this little beachy motel I'm working on! I found a few building tips here. Know of any other strange quirks to be aware of or things to account for when building hotels? Or if anyone has any recommendations for good BV lot makeovers, I'd love to hear them!

Does anyone know offhand what SimPE plug-ins you need to create things (and any other plug-ins you should have)? Just installed on the new computer and am having trouble remembering everything I need...

Woo hoo! Everything is installed and seems to be running as it should be (knock on wood). Finally. But HOLY CRAP GET THIS: My game used to take about 19 minutes to load. Now, on the new computer, running on an ssd? Guess how many minutes. Guess.

Is there anyone in the world who still isn't using Dropbox? If you are this rare person, would you care to say I sent you? There's no better way to sync all your cc downloads from your laptop to your simming computer!
Then there's also SugarSync (may I refer you again?), which is brand new to me but has 5GB of free storage right off the bat. So that seems handy.
I hope this is actually useful to somebody out there! I was using a tired old thumb drive for far, far too long. (My excuse is that it was one that was shaped like a really cute tiger. So.)

Wrote a frantic, frustrated account of my two days of attempts to install the game from Origin (evil! evil!) on MTS last night. Dreading coming home and trying again. What is it about computer things that can leave a person feeling so helpless and crazed? Is it because it feels like it's beyond our control and that is maddening? It's just a game, right? Ultimately, it installs or it doesn't install. I have it or I don't have it. I spend more money on it or I don't. No disaster. I am calm. I am not feeling like a squalling toddler, desperate for a mom who can come in and fix everything. Everything's going to be okay.
RIGHT?
